On June 7th, the Metropolitan Police's safety department arrested Ozeki Shigeo,�the husband of talento Yamaguchi Moe, for violating the "Law on Control and Improvement of Entertainment�Businesses". Ozeki is being accused of running an unauthorized exclusive club.

The suspicion for the arrest came after it was discovered that hostesses served customers at an exclusive club called "Birth NISHIAZABU" without receiving authorization from the Metropolitan Public Safety Commission. Ozeki is denying the charges, saying that although he agreed to receive some funds, he was not the manager of the club.

According to the safety division, "Birth NISHIAZABU" was opened by Ozeki in 2004, but Ozeki sold the goodwill of the club to an acquaintance. However, Ozeki continued to direct the management of the club, and moreover, he received millions of yen from the club every month. Consequently, the police are assuming that Ozeki was the club's virtual manager.

Ozeki's wife, Yamaguchi, is currently taking a break from her career to raise their children, especially now that a newborn joined her family in March. Responding to the arrest,�Yamaguchi made the following comment through her agency: "I am shocked about hearing news about it at this time. �The details are still unknown, but I feel sorry that my husband has shocked everyone, and that he has made trouble for everybody."
