On January 17th, AKB48's Miyazawa Sae attended the awards ceremony for "The 19th Bowling Mass Media Awards".

"The Bowling Mass Media Award" is presented to the person who helped spread the most awareness about bowling. In summer of 2010, Miyazawa took up the sport to challenge a professional bowler for a special TV program.

Holding an average score of 150, the idol expressed that the sport helped her learn about ambition. "AKB48 has a lot of members, but I wanted to take up this challenge in order to gain something that would make me number one."

"Through bowling, I learned the importance of aiming for the top," she said.

Although Miyazawa lost, her enthusiasm for bowling was recognized, and thus she was given this award.

After receiving the trophy, Miyazawa commented, "I don't know if I'm the right person [for this], but I'm happy to receive this award personally and not as a member of AKB48."

"After I practice some more and gain some confidence, I want to be a pro bowler, not for a project per se, but as a personal hobby."

During the ceremony, Miyazawa was also asked about her feelings on AKB48 winning the 2011 Japan Record Award. "I feel that we have finally been acknowledged for our hard work, so I'm truly happy. We are aiming to receive the award two years in a row," she said.

Miyazawa also shared that she wants to expand her solo activities, and declared, "For the 'Janken Taikai',�I lost in the 1st round two years in a row, so this year, I want to aim for 'Ue Kara Sae'."
