GACKT (38), who established the �Public Cooperation SHOW YOUR HEART Foundation� in March of last year to donate to the victims of the disaster areas, appeared at three memorial events in Iwate, Miyagi Prefecture on March 11th.

At exactly 2:46 P.M., the moment that the 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan, GACKT participated in a moment of silence at Minami Sanriku Bayside Arena in Miyagi Prefecture and offered a bouquet of flowers to the memorial altar there. Afterwards he stated, �3.11 is a date we cannot forget. We need to start seeing thing in a new light so that the victims can recovery even a day faster,� and reaffirmed his�commitment�to the issue for the audience.

Actor Kawasaki Mayo and the members of �YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz also visited the Arena along with GACKT. The organizers revealed that over 2 million yen (approximately 24,000 U.S. dollars) raised by the fund, was donated to the Japanese Red Cross in hopes of an earlier recovery.
