Actress Motokariya Yuika has been appointed as the new MC for the TBS variety program, 'Ousama no Brunch'!

Motokariya will fill in former MC Yuka's spot starting on April 7th. She will work alongside actor Tanihara Shosuke, who has been a part of the show since 2007.

'Ousama no Brunch' started back in April of 1996, making this the program's 17th year on air. Previous female MCs include Tanaka Ritsuko, Sato Tamao, and Yuka.

Producer Tomita Mizuho explained the reason for choosing Motokariya as the new MC saying, "When I thought of a woman who has both the 'cheerfulness' that's suitable for the morning and the 'warmth' for noontime, Motokariya-san came to mind. She's able to slip into people's hearts, and she also has the charm to be loved by anyone. So I'm sure she'll bring out fun stories [in interviews]."

Motokariya shared that she's been watching 'Ousama no Brunch' since her elementary school days, and would hurriedly leave school to catch the show. She expressed, "I love this show because charming and powerful people have served as MCs. I never thought I would become a MC!"

Since this will be her first time as a MC for a variety program, Motokariya commented, "I'm very honored, but I can really feel the pressure. I want to do my best to make this a fun show without ruining the atmosphere."
