The�Recording Industry Association of Japan�(RIAJ) has announced the winners of�"THE 33rd JAPAN GOLD DISC AWARD."

Awards are based on�sales number, and the winners of this year were chosen from data compiled between�January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. The 'Artist of the Year' award, which goes to the artist with the biggest sales for the year, went to singer�Amuro Namie, who retired from showbiz last September. This is her second consecutive year to win the award.
