It's been announced that Little Glee Monster members Serina and manaka will be graduating from the group after the finale of their nationwide tour 'Little Glee Monster LiveTour 2022 Journey' to be held on the 24th.
An announcement on Little Glee Monster's official website states, "There was a notice from Serina and manaka, who are both currently taking a break, of their wishes to leave Little Glee Monster and challenge a new path in their music careers. As a result of many discussions with the members, we've decided to respect Serina and manaka's wishes, and let them graduate. While prioritizing their health, we will support both Serina and manaka's future activities they aim for."
Serina has been on hiatus since December of 2020 due to her poor health. In May of last year, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and ADHD, and had been continuing to receive treatment since. Meanwhile, manaka has been taking a break since March of this year due to sudden deafness. The group is currently on tour with just three members - Karen, MAYU, and Asahi.
On her graduation, Serina commented, "I apologize for the sudden announcement. Moreover, I am sorry for not being able to respond to those who were awaiting my return." She continued, "I will not quit singing and expressing myself. I want to give back to everyone who loves me. I want them to find me. I want to meet them again."
Similarly, manaka stated, "I will graduate from Little Glee Monster. Taking a break and coming to a full stop, I was able to once again think about music and arrive at this decision." She added, "I have been recovering thanks to early treatment and rest, but I want to take a little more time and not overdo myself before seeing everyone again."
With Serina and manaka graduating, the three members's wishes of continuing as Little Glee Monster has gotten stronger. In order to realize their dream of becoming "the first vocal group from Japan that will make the world smile through music," they will be recruiting new members and move toward the next stage.
To coincide this, Watanabe Entertainment and Sony Music have launched a joint label called 'Monster Groove Lab.' Little Glee Monster will be the first of many groups in the label, a Lab where performers and creators, who want to "make the world smile through music," come together.
The first audition 'M∞NSTER AUDITION' is set to begin this summer. Not only are they looking for new members for Little Glee Monsters, but for a wide variety of talent that they can send off to the world.
