It's been announced that AKB48's Team 8 will be going on hiatus. 

This announcement was made on October 7 during 'MX Matsuri! AKB48 60th Single -Hisashiburi no Lip Gloss-Release Concert in Nippon Budokan 2022 ~Revenge! New Team Introduction Concert~' at Nippon Budokan. Team 8 will go on hiatus after their 'Team 8 Concert' and 'Team 8 9th Anniversary Concert' that's scheduled for April of next year. More details on the two shows will be announced at a later date. 

During the hiatus, the members will continue their activities in their concurrent groups.
