AKB48 will release their 62nd single (currently untitled) on September 27. At this time, the senbatsu members and details on the release events have been revealed .

The center of the title track will be Team B's Oguri Yui. It's been about five years since she last served as the center for the group's 52nd single "Teacher Teacher." Besides Oguri, the senbatsu members are Onishi Momoka, Okabe Rin, Oda Erina, Kuranoo Narumi, Shitao Miu, Hashimoto Eriko, Mukaichi Mion, Yamauchi Mizuki, Omori Maho, Kashiwagi Yuki, Sato Airi, Chiba Erii, Honda Miyu, Murayama Yuiri, and Yamazaki Sora. 

To commemorate the single's release, the group will hold handshake events at Chiba's Makuhari Messe from October, as well as online talk events. They haven't held a handshake event in three years and ten months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

In addition, AKB48 will hold a three-day concert at the Nippon Budokan from October 20 to 22. On the first day, the group will reflect on AKB48's "legendary scenes," then on the second day, they will hold a "Request Hour" style concert where the group will perform selected songs in the order of its ranking. Finally, the last day will be the day the group officially ends its team and captain systems, and introduce a new system of official members and research students.
