All-female vocal and dance group PassCode is set to provide the opening theme for the second season of the TV anime 'As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World.' The new track, titled “SKILLAWAKE,” marks their second consecutive anime tie-in following “WILLSHINE,” which served as the opening theme for SHY season 2. This latest song comes as part of their continued collaboration with anime productions following a recent label change.

Based on the popular light novel by Miraijin A, As a Reincarnated Aristocrat follows the story of Ars Louvent, a man reincarnated into another world with the ability to appraise people's hidden talents. Using his unique “Appraisal” skill, Ars recruits capable individuals to turn a weak territory into one of the strongest. The novel, published by Kodansha, has garnered significant attention, with over 100 million page views on the self-publishing site Shousetsuka ni Narou. The second season of the anime is set to premiere on September 29, following the success of the first season, which debuted in April 2024.

PassCode's new single “SKILLAWAKE” will be available for early streaming on October 7, with a physical CD release scheduled for December 18. The limited first edition of the CD will feature a Blu-ray recording of all 12 songs performed at the VERSUS PASSCODE 2024 Vol.2 concert, including the first-ever live performance of “WILLSHINE.” Fans can look forward to a B-side track accompanying “SKILLAWAKE” on the single.

In a recent statement, PassCode member Nao Minami expressed the group's excitement, sharing how the entire team read the original novel for inspiration during production. She noted that “SKILLAWAKE” is a fast-paced track typical of PassCode, but is sung from the perspective of a character in the story—encouraging fans to listen closely while watching the anime.
