On November 5, members Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi of the popular group Number_i were announced as the new global brand muses for the skincare brand SEKKISEI during a press conference held in Tokyo. Dressed in sleek white suits, the group shared their enthusiasm for the role, with Hirano stating, “We hope many people will discover SEKKISEI’s magic and feel the same excitement we do.”
This collaboration aligns with SEKKISEI’s 40th anniversary, a milestone that celebrates the brand's longstanding popularity in Japan and worldwide. Previously, the role of global muse has been held by high-profile figures such as actress Yui Aragaki, figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu, and MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani. Number_i’s appointment marks the first time that an artist group has been selected, underlining the brand’s innovative approach as it continues to expand internationally.
The group’s new commercial, “i Bright. – Forward-Facing Radiance,” debuts nationwide on November 7, featuring their song “iLY” from their album NO.I. During the event, each member spoke about moments when they feel at their “brightest.” Jinguji shared the satisfaction of delivering a completed project to fans, while Hirano described the thrill of finalizing a self-produced song. Kishi added his trademark humor, joking that he feels his best “during workouts,” even if he's taken a recent break from the gym.
As the group grows in global influence—evident from their recent performance at California’s Coachella Festival—the members expressed pride in promoting Japanese skincare on an international scale. “We want to showcase the quality of Japanese skincare to the world,” Jinguji explained. Hirano added, “Together with SEKKISEI, I hope to achieve that ideal radiance.”
