Hinatazaka46 first-generation members Kumi Sasaki, Mirei Sasaki, and Mana Takase announced their graduation from the group on their official blogs on January 6. The trio will graduate following activities related to the group’s 13th single, "Sotsugyou Shashin Dake ga Shitteru", set to release on January 29. This marks the departure of all first-generation members from the group.
Kumi Sasaki joined Hiragana Keyakizaka46 (now Hinatazaka46) in May 2016 and became the group’s captain in June 2018. Reflecting on her eight-and-a-half years with the group, she expressed gratitude:
"The group and my juniors have grown so much that I feel confident stepping away. I want to continue supporting them as one of the fans, the Ohisama."
She also shared her thoughts on graduating alongside Mirei Sasaki and Mana Takase:
"I'm truly happy to share this final journey with my fellow first-gen members. It feels reassuring."
Mirei Sasaki, in her blog, described her mixed emotions:
"It’s a strange feeling to share these words with you all. But I’m happy, grateful, and full of love."
She thanked fans, staff, and everyone who supported her, saying:
"Looking back on nearly nine years, being an idol was a dreamlike experience made possible by your support and love."
Mana Takase also expressed her gratitude:
"At 17, I joined the group, and over eight years of activities were possible thanks to the support of everyone. I want to make the most of my remaining time as an idol and leave no regrets."
The official website stated that details about their final activities will be announced in due course
