Tokyo-based J-pop group timelesz has officially introduced five new members following the finale of the Netflix original docuseries timelesz project -AUDITION-, now streaming worldwide. The announcement took place at a press conference at Universal Music Japan, marking a new chapter for the group.

Formerly known as Sexy Zone, the group—consisting of Fuma Kikuchi, So Matsushima, and Shori Sato—adopted the name timelesz (pronounced “timeless”) on April 1, 2024. This rebranding coincided with the launch of a nationwide audition program in collaboration with Netflix, aimed at expanding the group’s lineup. The series premiered in September 2024 and concluded in Japan on February 15, 2025, revealing the five new members: Takuto Teranishi, Yoshitaka Hara, Masaki Hashimoto, Shuto Inomata, and Taiki Shinozuka.

During the press conference, Fuma Kikuchi expressed excitement about the group’s evolution, stating, “From now, we call ourselves ‘family,’ and our family name is timelesz.” He emphasized that enjoying the process is key to their continued success and shared his dream of holding a dome tour in the future.

The audition process drew 18,922 applications. From these, around 350 advanced to the second stage, 36 to the third, and 15 to the fourth, where additional talent from STARTO ENTERTAINMENT also entered the competition. The final selection took place on February 5, 2025, with eight finalists vying for a spot in the group.

Timelesz’s first song as an eight-member group, Rock this Party, is set for global release on February 28, 2025, across all major streaming platforms. 

Additionally, a digital compilation album, Hello! We’re timelesz, featuring 12 of their hit songs from their Sexy Zone era—including the Netflix documentary theme Anthem—will also be available.
