
The TV anime adaptation of Kyoko Hikawa's manga 'Kanata Kara' ('From Far Away') is set to premiere this October on TOKYO MX, ABC TV, and WOWOW.
Alongside the broadcast announcement, the production unveiled its main cast and staff, as well as a teaser visual and the first teaser trailer.
The fantasy series follows high school student Noriko Tachiki, who is transported to a mysterious world where she meets the quiet warrior Izark Kia Tarj. As the two journey together and grow closer, Noriko discovers she is the prophesied "Awakening," a figure destined to awaken the fearsome Sky Demon.
Tomoyo Kurosawa will voice Noriko, while Kentaro Kumagai has been cast as Izark. Yuichiro Umehara will voice Rachef, with Eiji Takeuchi joining the cast as Keimos Lee Gorda.
Series creator Hikawa is supervising the anime, which is directed by Noriyuki Abe ('The Heroic Legend of Arslan') and animated by Studio DEEN.
