Previously, tokyohive covered Ichikawa Ebizo being rushed to the hospital after an assault, and then again when an arrest warrant was�put out for his alleged assailant. �Yesterday however, Ebizo held a press conference about the�assault�to answer questions and brush away unfounded speculations.

An estimated 500 members of the media attended the press conference to hear the embattled kabuki star give his side of the story. �Though evidence of the assault still left its mark on his face, he did not look as bad as one would have expected, given the mass of injuries that the media described earlier. �Ebizo allegedly underwent "major surgery", but there were no signs of scars, nor anything more serious.

During the press conference, Ebizo expressed remorse to his fans, peers, and sponsors while frequently bowing deeply. �Ebizo also recounted the day he was assaulted, painting himself as an admittedly drunken but innocent victim. �He mentioned that he feared for his life and then denied all speculation about the reason behind the assault.
