On June 23, Syla Holdings, Ltd. chairman Sugimoto Hiroyuki (43) attended a launch event for 'Rimawari-kun,' a crowdfunding campaign to support real estate, where he made remarks that admitted to being in a relationship with actress Fukada Kyoko (38). 

Sugimoto and Fukada's relationship was first reported back in 2019. The actress is currently taking a break from her activities after being diagnosed with adjustment disorder.

Surrounded by reporters, Sugimoto was asked if there is anybody that he wants to support in his private life. He answered, "Yes. It's difficult to respond, but I want to support her."

Reporters went on to ask, "May we assume you are admitting to the relationship?" to which Sugimoto said with a smile, "Thank you very much." 

Further, he was questioned about how he would be spending his upcoming birthday. The staff interrupted the question saying, "We ask that you refrain from asking questions about his private life today."
