Actress Umika Kawashima took to Instagram to announce the termination of her 18-year management contract with Lepros Entertainment, a major talent agency she joined in September 2005 during her sixth year of elementary school.
Sharing a photo of herself standing on a beach bathed in sunlight, Kawashima expressed gratitude to her supporters and those who have been with her throughout her career. She explained her decision to part ways with Lepros Entertainment, stating, "I've challenged myself in many ways over the years, and before I knew it, it became 19 years. Although I still want to pursue acting, I am not satisfied with where I am now. There are many things I want to try."
Despite the fear and uncertainty associated with changing her environment after 18 years, Kawashima emphasized her determination to believe in herself and requested support from those around her in this new chapter of her career.
After the Instagram announcement, Kawashima updated her X account to "@umika_official" and revealed plans for a photo exhibition, "Umika Kawashima × Sara Masuda Photo Exhibition," scheduled to take place near Tokyo from March 24 onwards.
