
The Love Live! series is set to air its first live-action drama adaptation, Love Live! School Idol Musical the DRAMA, starting on November 21, 2024, in the MBS "DramaFilo" time slot. This adaptation is based on the musical School Idol Musical, which debuted in 2022, and portrays the story of ten girls navigating their youthful experiences as "school idols." The musical's original narrative will be translated into a live-action format for television.
The Love Live! series began in 2010 and has since expanded into manga, anime, and games, all depicting the lives of high school girls chasing their dreams through school idol activities. Following the success of School Idol Musical, the story will return to the stage in 2025, along with the new TV drama adaptation. Kouki Kishimoto, who wrote the script for the musical, will return to write the screenplay for the drama, with Keijiro Tsubakimoto and Hiroto Totsuka directing.
