Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo, located inside Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, is expected to reopen around September after remaining temporarily closed since March 27.

The store suspended operations following a fatal stabbing incident that occurred on March 26.

In a notice posted on its official website, the store stated, "Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo will remain temporarily closed for the time being. We currently plan to resume operations around September 2026."

Many fans shared messages of relief online after the store announced plans to resume operations. Following the incident, the store said staff well-being and cooperation with police would remain its top priorities.
