Ryo Nishikido appeared on the May 27 episode of the TBS variety program 'Nino Nanoni,' where he spoke about the challenges of balancing activities between NEWS and SUPER EIGHT, formerly known as Kanjani8.

The appearance marked Nishikido's first variety show appearance in about seven years and his first on-screen reunion with Kazunari Ninomiya since leaving the former Johnny & Associates agency, now known as SMILE-UP., in 2019.

During the program, Nishikido revealed that he had contacted Ninomiya once after leaving the agency, simply asking, "How are you?" The conversation later turned to the period when Nishikido was active in both NEWS and Kanjani8 at the same time.

Ninomiya recalled that Nishikido would sometimes be asked similar interview questions for both groups, such as discussing his latest personal interests. Nishikido laughed and admitted, "At some point, I just started making everything up," drawing laughter from the audience.
