Nintendo has unveiled new renderings of its upcoming Technology Development Center, a major new research and development hub currently under construction next to the company's headquarters in Kyoto.
Designed to support the development of Nintendo's future hardware and software, the facility will house offices for developers, server infrastructure, and other equipment needed for long-term research and innovation. The project was originally announced as the Corporate Headquarters Development Center, Building No. 2, but has now been officially renamed the Technology Development Center.
Nintendo acquired the land from the City of Kyoto in 2022 through a public proposal process. The nine-story building, which also includes one basement level, is now scheduled for completion in March 2029, instead of the originally planned December 2027 completion.
The project is estimated to cost approximately ¥121 billion (about $750 million USD), highlighting Nintendo's continued investment in the future of its game and hardware development.
