The latest installment of the Godzilla franchise, Godzilla -0.0, has been selected for the Spotlight Gala section of the 64th New York Film Festival, where it will make its world premiere. It also marks the first time a Godzilla film has been selected for the festival.
Directed, written, and featuring visual effects by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla -0.0 is set in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One. Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe reprise their roles as Japan once again faces a new threat.
Yamazaki expressed his gratitude for having the film premiere at such a prestigious festival, adding that he is excited to see how audiences around the world respond to the latest Japanese Godzilla film. He is also scheduled to attend the festival, marking his first appearance at the event.
Following its Japanese release on November 3, Godzilla -0.0 will begin rolling out overseas, with releases across Asia and North America starting November 4.
