Yuria Suzuki premiered the music video for her debut single "Hitomi wo Tojitara ~When I Close My Eyes~" on June 17.
The song first gained traction on TikTok, where a short version was released about a week earlier. A choreography video incorporating para para—a synchronized dance style that became a staple of Japan's Eurobeat scene in the 1990s and 2000s—quickly drew attention.
"Hitomi wo Tojitara ~When I Close My Eyes~" is the first Japanese-language cover of "When I Close My Eyes," a Eurobeat track originally released by CHERRY in 1997. The original song was written and produced by Bratt Sinclaire, who is also known for his work on "Night of Fire."
The new version was arranged by M.O.R (Eurobeat Union), the production team behind QUEENDOM's hit song "Chiki Chiki Ban Ban," making it a notable release for Eurobeat fans.
Suzuki first gained attention through her appearance on the reality dating show 'Love Joto' before making her major-label debut under avex.
