Suda Masaki will be in charge of the theme song for NTV's upcoming drama 'Kimi to Sekai ga Owaru Hi ni' which premieres on January 17.
A co-production with Hulu, 'Kimi to Sekai ga Owaru Hi ni' is a survival love story starring Takeuchi Ryoma and Nakajo Ayami. The story revolves around Mamiya Hibiki (Takeuchi) as he confronts difficulties searching for his girlfriend Kurumi (Nakajo) in a despairing world where zombies wander about.
When he found out that he was going to be in charge of its theme song, Suda set up meetings with the drama's director and producer. Based on their discussions, Suda requested Mega Shinnosuke to write the theme song.
Titled "Hoshi wo Aogu," the theme song is a ballad number about one's feelings for their loved one. It was written and composed by Mega Shinnosuke, and produced by Tanaka Yusuke. On the song, Suda commented, "Mamiya Hibiki, played by Takeuchi Ryoma, is a man who is burdened and struggling. I hope this song will nestle close and support him when he is tired and about to fall over."
