According to Shukan Bunshun, actress Haruna Kawaguchi (31) and Japan national soccer team captain Ko Itakura (29) are in a serious relationship.

The outlet reports that the two began dating after Itakura moved to the Netherlands to play for Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam in August 2025. It also claims that Kawaguchi traveled to the Netherlands to spend time with the footballer shortly after they started seeing each other.

Shukan Bunshun further reports that the couple has also been spotted on dates in Tokyo and says the relationship has become increasingly serious.

Kawaguchi was previously reported to have ended her long-term relationship with martial artist Yusuke Yachi in spring of 2024 after dating for around five years.

According to the report, Shukan Bunshun contacted both Kawaguchi's agency and Itakura's management company for comments but did not receive a response by its publication deadline.
